JAMB Direct Entry: a different application from UTME

JAMB UTME

Direct Entry is its own JAMB application. This page keeps the 2025 FAQ facts separate from UTME, and does not guess a 2026 fee or calendar.

Not the same application as UTME

Direct Entry is a separate JAMB application. It is not UTME. If you want the matriculation exam, start with all you should know about JAMB UTME. Learn is not JAMB. The JAMB FAQ treats Direct Entry as its own application option.

What the FAQ asks you to bring

At registration, a Direct Entry candidate provides the previous school's registration or matriculation number, the course, the awarding institution, and the year of graduation. Registration is still in person at an accredited centre, with biometrics. Those shared steps are on registration.

Dates and fees that are not current

The FAQ labels a 2025 Direct Entry sale window of 8 March 2025 to 7 April 2025, and a 2025 amount of N5,700. The payment and services page lists Direct Entry registration as 3,500 plus a CBT charge of 700, and it does not name a year. Those two pages do not agree. Confirm both before you pay. This page does not have a 2026 or 2027 sale window.

After you apply

Admission processing for Direct Entry runs on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS). Submitting an application is not an offer.

Official facts stay on the JAMB UTME guide.
