NMCN's published annual examination pattern
The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria publishes a recurring schedule for four professional qualifying examination periods each year. On its undated Examination Division page, NMCN states this pattern:
- March: Professional Qualifying Examination for Midwives, scheduled for the second Tuesday.
- May: Professional Qualifying Examination for General Nurses, scheduled for the first Tuesday.
- September: Professional Qualifying Examination for Midwives, scheduled for the second Tuesday.
- November: Professional Qualifying Examination for General and Post-Basic Nurses, scheduled for the first Tuesday.
This pattern is useful for planning. It is not a substitute for a dated timetable or notice for your specific examination sitting.
Are exact 2026 NMCN exam dates confirmed?
We did not locate a dated, first-party NMCN timetable confirming the exact 2026 examination dates during our review on 16 September 2026.
Learn does not calculate dates from the recurring weekday pattern and present them as official Council dates. A date becomes confirmed on this page only when it appears in a current NMCN notice, timetable, portal announcement or instruction issued through a candidate's training institution.
If you are preparing for an upcoming sitting, use the recurring pattern as an early planning guide and ask your school for the latest Council communication.
