What is the NMCN General Nursing qualifying examination?

General Nursing examination timing
NMCN's undated standing examination page associates General Nursing with May and also lists General and Post Basic Nursing in November. This is not a dated 2026 timetable and should not be converted into exact calendar dates.

What happens after passing?
NMCN describes General Nursing as a Basic Registration route for candidates who complete approved education and pass the applicable Final Professional Qualifying Examination. Examination results, professional registration and a practising licence are separate records and stages.
The official NMCN material names General Nursing and Community Nursing as separate programmes.
Community Nursing should therefore not be presented as another name for General Nursing. A student must check the exact programme title and approval record attached to the institution.
A University Generic BNSc programme is also a separate educational route. NMCN says students in that route are indexed for General Nursing at 200 level, but that administrative detail does not make a university BNSc programme identical to every school-based General Nursing programme.
